In preparation for the Kino 0.7.4 release, I have touched up the FFMPEG DivX export script to make profiles more suitable for Internet playback. Also, I added an Ogg Theora export script. So, I want to test out embedding within Mambo and my DSL uplink speed:

• Medium Broadband quality (564 Kb/s) DivX at 320x240. This plays fine for me using Firefox with mplayerplugin on Linux. Not getting good results at all using any browser on Windows. I will have to improve upon this. If you just want a link to download or launch in an app without plugin, then use http://www.dennedy.org/videos/family/cicadas_hi.avi.
  
  
• Low Broadband quality (400 Kb/s) OggTheora at 160x128. I am having trouble getting the bitrate low as I want (<128K) with low res OggTheora videos, and the medium res 320x240 is near 1000K. Anyways, this page is authored to use RealPlayer10 for playback, and it works on Linux and Windows for me. For Windows, you have to download some Helix plugins for decoding Ogg formats.
