Kino2 to actually be Kdenlive?

One of the things we talked about on The Linux Link Tech Show podcast was the lack of consolidated, concerted effort on the video editing software front. In very recent news, Jason Wood, the lead of the Kdenlive video editor (sorry for no mention on the podcast :-/), told me that the project has revived with a few new active developers with a port from piave to MLT as the media processing foundation. I am taking a keen interest in joining this effort beyond the impending Kino 0.8.0 release!
